According to Guangdong Transportation Group, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area super project Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor has successfully entered the bridge load test stage. Next, the total weight of about 5,000 tons of large trucks will be for the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor Zhongshan Bridge, Lingdingyang Bridge, non-navigational holes in the approach to the bridge to carry out a "physical examination". At present, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor electromechanical, traffic safety, pavement, housing and other ancillary works are in full swing, to June with the opening conditions sprint.

Load test is a key link that the bridge must go through before opening to traffic, divided into static load test and dynamic load test, through the equivalent simulation of the load situation after opening to traffic, on-site testing of various parts of the bridge response data, to determine whether the bridge bearing capacity in line with the design requirements and relevant norms, for the future long-term health monitoring to provide the initial data, but also for the future maintenance, management decision-making to provide a scientific basis and support.

The total length of the bridge project of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor is about 17 kilometers, including the cable-stayed Zhongshan Bridge, the world's largest spanning offshore steel box girder suspension bridge in the sea, Lingdingyang Bridge and non-navigable approach bridges. In order to scientifically and efficiently complete the load test, the project selected 60-meter span concrete girders, 110-meter span steel box girders, the main span of 580 meters Zhongshan Bridge and the main span of 1,666 meters of the Lingdingyang Bridge four representative work sites for the test, covering all structural types of bridges in the sea.

In order to reduce the complex wind field, temperature field and the impact of temporary loading at sea, the load test was selected to be implemented at night when the wind is small, the temperature is constant and the temporary traffic is small. It is understood that the load test work of SZC bridge project will last until April 17th.
