A few days ago, the world's first highly intelligent tugboat with autonomous companion ship function, "Jin Gang Ship 36", was put into operation in Tianjin Port. The tugboat is 34.6 meters long, 11.2 meters wide, 5.22 meters deep, with a design draft of 3.92 meters and a design speed of 12.5 knots, and has a number of industry-leading technological innovations.

　　It is reported that autonomous companion sailing refers to the behavior of approaching the target, accompanying the target and leaning against the target under the state of monitoring and control by the system autonomously locking and autonomously manipulating the ship. "Jin port wheel 36" ship autonomous companion sailing system research and development project led by China Classification Society, in the project implementation cycle of the 16th month that is the full realization of the expected key indicators, the key hardware involved in the domestic autonomy of up to 90%, perception, control, human-computer interaction, such as core algorithms and software 100% independent research and development.

　　During the test period, with the cooperation of the accompanying vessel "Jin Gang Ship 37", China Classification Society (CCS) conducted a total of 34 tests in 4 categories on the functional safety, sensing performance, control performance and verification of the whole process of the autonomous companion sailing system. The test results show that the system hardware runs stably and reliably, the safety mechanism is complete and effective, the target perception is accurate and tracking is stable, the regulation and control is accurate without overshooting and has strong adaptability, the man-machine interaction software is stable and easy to use, and the interface is friendly, and the expected indexes have been comprehensively verified.

　　In order to further promote the demonstration application of intelligent tugboat autonomous companion navigation function in Tianjin Port, Tianjin Port Barge Company and China Classification Society (CCS) Tianjin Branch and relevant departments of Beijiang Maritime Bureau signed the "Letter of Intent on the Cooperation of Demonstration Studio for Intelligent Navigation of Tugboats in Tianjin Port".
