On April 21, 2025, CATL held its inaugural Super Tech Day in Shanghai under the theme "Boundary · Awakening." At the event, the company officially launched its new brand, Natrium, and unveiled several new products: the Natrium 24V heavy-duty truck start-stop integrated battery for commercial vehicles, along with three power batteries for passenger vehicles – the second-generation Shenxing battery, the Natrium passenger car battery, and the Xiaoyao dual-chemistry battery. This marks the official beginning of the multi-energy era for the new energy industry.

CATL Chairman Robin Zeng stated that he hopes users do not define CATL as just a battery manufacturer, but rather as a pioneer in the new energy industry. Multi-energy means CATL will transition the power battery industry from a "parameter-driven" phase to a "demand-led" phase, making the multi-energy era truly "Your Era."
Natrium 24V Heavy-Duty Truck Start-Stop Integrated Battery: A New Benchmark for Commercial Vehicle Energy
The Natrium 24V start-stop integrated battery addresses the long-standing challenge of difficult starting for commercial vehicle conventional batteries in low temperatures. It can start instantly at temperatures as low as -40°C and meet the power supply needs of auxiliary equipment like air conditioning, ensuring efficient logistics operations in cold northern regions.

With a design life of 8 years, this battery achieves "battery life matching vehicle life." Compared to lead-acid batteries, it reduces total lifecycle costs by 61%, significantly alleviating operational cost pressures and enhancing economic benefits. Its low self-discharge rate allows the vehicle to start even after a year of inactivity, providing reliable energy assurance for long-haul transport and temporary missions, thereby improving vehicle availability.

Additionally, users can monitor charging status and power levels in real-time via a mobile app, enabling remote operations like wireless power-on/off management. This makes energy management more convenient, efficient, and operational scheduling more flexible. The battery is scheduled to enter mass production in June 2025, with a partnership with FAW Jiefang to promote its large-scale application, advancing energy solutions for the commercial vehicle sector.
Xiaoyao Dual-Chemistry Battery: Ushering in the Multi-Energy Era
CATL's Xiaoyao dual-chemistry battery features an innovative dual-chemistry architecture, achieving redundancy across multiple dimensions, including high-voltage, low-voltage, structural, thermal management, and thermal runaway safety protection, ensuring stable and safe power delivery. Its self-generated anode technology not only enhances energy density but also supports flexible adaptation to various material systems.

The electricity-extending range-extender technology intelligently adjusts energy distribution based on vehicle status and driving habits, catering to diverse application needs.

Furthermore, the Xiaoyao battery offers customized performance through combinations like "sodium-iron," "iron-iron," and "ternary-iron/dual-ternary" solutions. The dual-chemistry design and intelligent software synergy will provide more stable and reliable power support for L3 and L4 autonomous driving in the future. This leads the power battery industry into the multi-energy era and drives technological progress.
Second-Generation Shenxing Ultra-Fast Charging Battery: Reaching New Heights in Fast Charging
CATL's second-generation Shenxing battery is the world's first lithium iron phosphate battery to offer both an 800-kilometer range and a peak 12C ultra-fast charging speed. With a peak charging power of 1.3 megawatts, it achieves an effortless 2.5 kilometers of range per second. Even at a low temperature of -10°C, it can charge from 5% to 80% SOC in just 15 minutes. Under low SOC (state of charge) conditions, it still delivers a peak output power of 830 kW, equivalent to 1,100 horsepower, ensuring strong performance whether the battery is full or nearly empty.

CATL's dual-chemistry, and future multi-chemistry, battery architecture will cover all domains, from passenger vehicles to commercial vehicles, and even aircraft, ships, and industrial/commercial applications. This will accelerate the development of CATL's closed-loop, full-scenario energy ecosystem.
