On September 6, the Department of Transport of Hubei Province publicly released the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Modern Comprehensive Transportation System in Hubei Province," specifying that by 2030, the construction rate of the backbone of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network in Hubei will reach 100%.

The plan sets core indicators: the total mileage of expressways will exceed 10,000 kilometers, with highways of six lanes or more reaching 3,000 kilometers; the mileage of high-speed railways will exceed 3,600 kilometers. It will construct five major networks: high-speed railways, high-grade waterways, expressways, airport clusters, and port clusters, achieving multi-modal interconnection among rail, water, road, and air. Major projects such as the Three Gorges water transport new channel and the Yangtze River high-speed railway will be promoted simultaneously, strengthening the mid-Yangtze River shipping center and enhancing the dual passenger and cargo hubs of Wuhan Tianhe and Ezhou Huahu.
By that time, Hubei will basically form three one-hour transportation circles within the province, improve the multimodal transport system, and solidify the transportation support as a pioneer for the rise of the central region.
