On September 10, the 2026 Conference on Accelerating the Building of a Country with a Strong Transportation Network was held in Wuhan, clarifying that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the "AI + Transportation" initiative will be deeply implemented, digital-intelligent transportation corridors will be built, and the construction of an intelligent comprehensive multi-dimensional transportation network will be accelerated.

　　In recent years, China's smart transportation construction has continued to advance. At present, more than 7,800 kilometers of expressways have completed digital-intelligent transformation, and there are about 27 million units (sets) of Beidou-related equipment and devices in the transportation industry. A number of demonstration practices have emerged in various regions. Jiangsu, relying on AI-powered smart road networks, has achieved full-area perception and control on expressways. Shandong Port's automated terminals have improved operating efficiency by 30% compared with traditional terminals.

　　Through the deep integration of big data, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence with the transportation industry, we will promote the intelligent upgrading of highways, ports, and hub stations, and expand innovative scenarios such as autonomous driving, low-altitude applications, and smart logistics. The construction of an intelligent comprehensive multi-dimensional transportation network can improve road network operating efficiency, reduce logistics costs across society, provide technical support for maintaining smooth freight transportation and unimpeded flow and for the development of multimodal transport, and help advance the high-quality building of a country with a strong transportation network.
