Three DFAC hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles to debut at IAA Transportation 2026 Hannover International Transport Expo

On September 14, the 72nd German Hannover International Transport Expo (IAA Transportation 2026) will officially kick off. As an important exhibition for the global commercial vehicle industry, this edition of IAA will showcase new technologies and products in fields such as NEW ENERGY, intelligent connectivity, autonomous driving, and hydrogen energy.
DFAC will appear at Hall H12, Booth C20 with the theme "With DONGFENG, Drive HYDROGEN: Ride DFAC, Go with Hydrogen". Three hydrogen-powered complete vehicles, a world-premiere 400kW fuel cell, and the T1 commercial vehicle NEW ENERGY platform form the core lineup of this exhibition.

From long-haul heavy-duty transport to urban delivery, from core components to complete vehicle platforms, what kind of hydrogen transport solutions is DFAC preparing to bring to Hannover this time? Before the exhibition opens, let's first lock in a few highlights.
Three hydrogen products covering diverse transport scenarios.
The three hydrogen-powered complete vehicles that DFAC will unveil are respectively aimed at long-haul trunk heavy-duty transport, efficient resource transport, and urban cold-chain delivery. The three scenarios have different emphases in transport distance, load, operational availability, and refueling needs, and basically cover the current representative application directions of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles.
At present, DFAC has formed a hydrogen product layout from 20kW to 400kW. Among them, long-haul heavy-duty transport deserves special attention. For this scenario, DFAC will globally premiere a 400kW fuel cell at IAA. How higher power will serve long-distance, high-load operations, and how the vehicle will balance power, energy consumption, and refueling efficiency, will become a major highlight.
T1 platform debuts, strengthening NEW ENERGY product layout.
At this IAA, DFAC will also release the T1 commercial vehicle NEW ENERGY platform.
T1 adopts modular, integrated, and customized design, and can be compatible with different technology routes such as pure hydrogen, hydrogen-electric hybrid, and pure electric, covering four major categories: tractor, cargo, dump, and special-purpose. This means that on the same technology base, different combinations can be made according to energy routes and transport scenarios, and it supports rapid localized customization for overseas models.
In terms of core architecture, T1 integrates six major modules: fuel cell, hydrogen storage, power battery, electric drive, central domain control, and integrated thermal management, and is designed according to functional safety ASIL-C.

DFAC proposes four core features for this platform: "light curb weight, fast refueling, low energy consumption, and high safety." These keywords are familiar to transport operators who deal with load, timeliness, and operating costs every day. What other technological innovations the platform has will also depend on the parameters and details announced at the IAA site.
Nearly three decades of hydrogen accumulation, accelerating toward large-scale application.
Why did DFAC choose hydrogen as the core theme of its Hannover exhibition this time? Behind it are nearly 30 years of continuous strategic layout.
At present, DFAC owns more than 2,000 hydrogen-related patents and has put more than 10,000 hydrogen-powered vehicles into commercial operation in China, accounting for about one-third of China's hydrogen-powered commercial vehicle market. Large-scale actual operation also means R&D is no longer limited to laboratory data; real routes, loads, and operating conditions have become the basis for continuous technology iteration.
Beyond technology, DFAC is further integrating intelligence, NEW ENERGY, and globalization into the same development framework through the "Tianyuan Intelligent, Tianjing Zero Carbon, Tianji Sets Sail" plans. Among them, hydrogen is an important technology direction of the "Tianjing Zero Carbon" plan, and moving from domestic large-scale operation to Hannover also gives the globalization layout of "Tianji Sets Sail" a more specific product carrier.

Industrial chain development is also advancing in parallel. Driven by DFAC, Hubei has gathered more than 50 upstream and downstream hydrogen enterprises, gradually forming an industrial ecosystem covering "production, storage, transportation, refueling, and use."
How these accumulated achievements will be presented in a concentrated way on the IAA stage for the first time through what products and solutions is also an important clue for observing DFAC's hydrogen technology going to the global market. On September 14, at Hall H12, Booth C20 of the Hannover International Exhibition Center in Germany, the answer will soon be revealed.
The online special topic of Transport People Network for the "2026 Hannover International Commercial Vehicle Show" has been launched.
