Recently, the Henan Provincial Department of Transport convened a provincial meeting to advance the pilot work of building a transportation powerhouse, announced eight key tasks for building a strong transportation province, and coordinated work in multiple areas including road network construction, logistics quality improvement, green transformation, intelligent upgrading, and practitioner protection, to drive the transportation powerhouse pilot to deepen and yield solid results.

Henan Defines Eight Key Tasks for Building a Strong Transportation Province, Promotes Implementation of Transportation Power Pilot in Multiple Dimensions

The eight key tasks cover the construction of a comprehensive multi-dimensional transportation network and logistics network, digital and intelligent renewal and transformation of infrastructure, improvement of the transportation system in modern metropolitan areas, tackling bottlenecks in multimodal transport, adjustment of the transport structure, enhancement of industry safety capacity, digital and intelligent upgrading of transportation, and integrated development of transportation-tourism and transportation-energy industries. Among them, it is made clear that the large-scale promotion of NEW ENERGY heavy trucks should be accelerated, and supporting energy replenishment facilities should be improved; the protection of the rights and interests of trucking practitioners should be ensured; and the "AI + Transportation" initiative should be implemented to build digital-intelligent transportation corridors.

Henan will focus on freight sources such as industrial and mining sites and ports, shore up weak links in hub collection and distribution, and optimize multimodal transport facilities, information, and service systems. At the same time, it will promote the quality improvement of premium self-driving tourism highways and innovate transportation-energy integration models. By improving the closed-loop mechanism for pilot application, advancement, acceptance, and replication, it will ensure projects are implemented and effective, providing a practical example for the high-quality development of transportation in inland regions.
