TECTRANS II: A modular platform built for commercial vehicle electrification.

Scenario adaptability: adaptable to diverse commercial vehicle applications and operational needs.

Platform adapts to multiple scenarios: By configuring different numbers of standardized battery packs, TECTRANS II can meet different energy capacity and payload requirements, with a maximum vehicle range of up to 1,000 km.

Flexible technology route: The platform is compatible with both e-axle and central drive architectures, and supports flexible switching between charging and battery swapping modes.

One hardware configuration, full lifecycle compatibility: The platform unifies external dimensions, electrical interfaces and communication protocols, and battery technology and pack design can be iteratively upgraded. New and existing models can both benefit from subsequent technology upgrades without major changes to the vehicle platform.

Modular design can help OEMs shorten vehicle development cycles by 50% and reduce R&D costs by 60% to 70%, helping models reach the market faster and reducing adaptation costs.

Full lifecycle economics: Improve vehicle full lifecycle returns.

Faster payback period: The modular platform eliminates the need to develop dedicated battery systems separately for each model, helping OEMs compress development costs, shorten time to market and reduce upfront investment risks.

Higher operational returns: TECTRANS II improves fleet economics in three aspects.

Higher energy density: The battery gravimetric energy density reaches 170 Wh/kg, about 13% higher than the industry average. With unchanged battery capacity, the vehicle can carry about 0.6 tons of additional payload.

Longer range, faster replenishment: The top-spec version offers a range of up to 1,000 km and features megawatt-level fast charging, enabling a charge to 80% in 25 minutes, reducing charging waiting time for long-haul trunk transport.

Higher energy efficiency: The world's first full-tab low-impedance design enables a system round-trip efficiency (RTE) of up to 96%, reducing charging losses and providing more usable energy for daily operations.

Higher residual value: TECTRANS II batteries for heavy trucks have a design life of 12 years and a driving range of 1.5 million km, with capacity retention of up to 70%, effectively improving the residual value of fleet assets.

Safety and reliability: Meet the stringent requirements of real-world commercial vehicle operations.

Robust physical protection:

Hot-formed steel top cover: Can withstand an adult weighing 180 kg repeatedly stepping on it 10,000 times without deformation.

Ultra-high-strength bottom plate: Impact resistance reaches 1,000 J, protecting the battery pack from road impact damage.

High-strength enclosure protection: Uses an extruded aluminum enclosure with anti-crush ribs, with lateral crush resistance up to 250 kN.

15-year anti-corrosion performance: Enables long-term operation in coastal and cold regions.

Easy-maintenance design: Maintains IPXXB protection rating whether the main connector is plugged or unplugged, improving high-voltage safety during maintenance.

System redundancy design:

Architecture redundancy: Uses multi-branch independent battery management system (BMS) control; the system can isolate faulty branches while the remaining branches continue to supply power.

Precise fault diagnosis: Self-developed insulation fault location technology can distinguish whether an insulation fault originates from the battery or other vehicle components, speeding up troubleshooting.

Cybersecurity protection: Builds a multi-layer protection system from chip hardware and software programs to the entire vehicle system, with the entire R&D process following international information security standards.

TECTRANS II demonstrates CATL's long-term commitment to continuous innovation and consistently ensuring product quality. The platform has undergone rigorous tests such as real-vehicle torsion and external fire, as well as real-world operation validation, and can ensure safety, reliability and long service life in demanding commercial vehicle operating scenarios.

Working together to build European green freight corridors.

During the exhibition, CATL also signed a memorandum of understanding with DHL Group. Building on their September 2024 cooperation agreement, the two parties will create multiple green freight corridors in Europe. The partners will leverage DHL's logistics network, operational experience and actual transportation needs, combine them with CATL's battery technology and electrification ecosystem, and join forces with OEMs and other partners to jointly develop dedicated electric vehicles and carry out pilot deployments.
