2026-09-16 14:34:08
On September 14, the 2026 German Hannover International Transport Exposition (IAA) officially opened.
As the world's largest and most influential commercial vehicle event, BYD made a grand debut with the all-new battery-electric tractor ETT44 equipped with 1.5MW charging technology, while showcasing a full lineup of models including the rigid truck ETH28 Swap Body & Hooklift, yard tractor EYT2.0, light commercial vehicle E-VALI, and small truck T35 (European version). Leveraging its vertical integration advantages and core NEW ENERGY technologies, it achieves full tonnage coverage from 3.5 tons to 44 tons, adapting to diverse scenarios such as urban delivery, engineering construction, and long-distance logistics, comprehensively supporting the zero-carbon transition of European commercial vehicles.

1.5MW Charging Support, Battery-Electric Tractor ETT44 Makes a Stunning Debut.
As BYD's flagship heavy-duty battery-electric tractor developed for the European market, ETT44 integrates high performance, megawatt fast charging, high safety, and human-oriented design, suitable for long-haul trunk-line transportation scenarios. The vehicle weighs 11.12 tons and is equipped with an eight-in-one electronic control system and integrated electric drive axle; its flat-wire dual motors deliver peak power up to 750 kW (1000 hp). Thanks to CTC battery-chassis integration technology, it can haul 500 kg more cargo than models in the same class; equipped with a commercial vehicle-specific Blade Battery, it offers two battery capacities of 434 kWh and 651 kWh, with a maximum range of up to 600 km.
In terms of charging, ETT44 has 1.5MW high-power charging capability, can complete a 20%-80% charge in 20 minutes, and is compatible with Europe's mainstream CCS2 charging system, effectively solving the charging challenge of heavy truck electrification.

In terms of safety, the vehicle earned a five-star rating from Euro NCAP, the European New Car Assessment Programme. It is the first heavy truck outside the EU to pass this certification, and also the world's first battery-electric tractor to receive this certification. Euro NCAP is the world's most stringent third-party vehicle safety rating programme, mainly used to evaluate and lead the development of automotive safety technology. This certification fully reflects BYD's commitment to high quality and high safety standards for vehicles, using solid safety strength to safeguard safe travel for global users.

Covering 3.5 tons~44 tons, BYD provides integrated NEW ENERGY ecosystem solutions.
All models exhibited at this show are built on BYD's self-developed core technologies and full-industry-chain vertical integration capabilities, covering multi-scenario commercial transportation needs. Among them, the EYT2.0 yard tractor has been put into commercial operation at ports and hubs in Germany, the Netherlands, France, and other countries, and has won market recognition with stable and reliable performance; the T35 small truck (European version) and E-VALI light commercial vehicle precisely match the needs of urban delivery and last-mile logistics scenarios.

The Swap Body (swap-body vehicle) and Hooklift (hooklift vehicle) built on the ETH28 platform can meet differentiated scenarios such as regional logistics, engineering construction, and sanitation operations; their fast-charging capability and high-power output advantages can fully adapt to high-frequency commercial operation needs.
BYD Executive Vice President Li Ke said: "We will gradually introduce passenger vehicle flash charging technology into the commercial vehicle sector. With shorter charging times, we will bring significant energy efficiency improvements to each vehicle; at the same time, in areas such as batteries and solar power generation, energy storage, charging infrastructure, and vehicle management, we will provide European customers with a one-stop energy ecosystem solution."

Regarding the newly launched battery-electric tractor ETT44, Luo Zhongliang, Vice President of BYD Group and General Manager of the 15th Business Division & Commercial Vehicle Business Division, added: "This vehicle was developed specifically to solve the NEW ENERGY transition challenges of medium- and long-haul trunk-line logistics in Europe. Combined with our zero-carbon trunk-line logistics solution, it can replace fuel-powered heavy trucks with battery-electric products, addressing industry pain points such as high energy consumption and high carbon emissions; by deploying a commercial fast-charging ecosystem, it will completely solve the charging efficiency challenge of electric heavy trucks."

Breaking through the challenges of truck electrification and connecting the full-link ecosystem of vehicle-charger-grid, BYD will continue to join hands with more commercial transportation partners, using one-stop NEW ENERGY ecosystem solutions to support the zero-carbon transition of Europe's transportation industry, and use Chinese intelligent manufacturing to drive global commercial vehicles toward a new future of high efficiency and low carbon.
