The biggest highlight at this show’s booth is the comprehensively upgraded all-new MAN eTGX battery-electric heavy truck. Through three core upgrades—optimized aerodynamic styling, an upgraded energy recovery system, and a new-generation battery—the vehicle’s usable battery capacity has been increased by 10%, with energy efficiency optimized as well. Its range has achieved a major breakthrough: the maximum range of the 4×2 tractor model can reach 660 kilometers, and the newly added 6×2 tractor version equipped with a seventh battery has a range exceeding 720 kilometers.

While upgrading range, the new vehicle still maintains its lightweight advantage. The 4×2 version has a curb weight of only 10.7 tons, and with a standard trailer its maximum payload can reach 25 tons, with load capacity fully matching that of traditional diesel tractors. In addition, the newly designed body structure optimizes the driver’s forward and side visibility, greatly reducing driving blind spots, especially adapting to complex urban road traffic scenarios, and comprehensively improving road traffic safety.

Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of MAN Commercial Vehicles, said that the theme of this show precisely interprets MAN’s original brand aspiration and development layout. Relying on an efficient, reliable, and safe full range of models, MAN continues to drive innovation in the global transportation industry. In the coming years, MAN will invest 700 million euros together with global partners to continuously improve its service network, deepen customer empowerment, and, with full-chain integrated solutions, help customers achieve high-quality operations with cost reduction and efficiency improvement as well as green sustainability.

In the field of electrification, MAN for the first time fully exhibits a full series of battery-electric truck matrix covering 12 tons to 50 tons, including four main models: eTGL, eTGM, eTGS, and eTGX, comprehensively covering all commercial vehicle application scenarios such as urban distribution, municipal operations, construction site transportation, and long-haul trunk lines. All models come standard with MAN’s self-developed modular high-efficiency battery dedicated to commercial vehicles, which can flexibly match configurations according to different transportation scenarios, balancing power, range, and energy consumption performance.

2026 Hanover Motor Show: MAN's All-New eTGX Battery-Electric Heavy Truck Upgraded, with Parallel Diesel-Electric Strategy for All-Scenario Transportation

In terms of charging efficiency, MAN has achieved mass production and deployment of megawatt charging system (MCS) technology. Since the end of July this year, new eTGX and eTGS vehicles equipped with the MCS ultra-fast charging system have officially started production and have been delivered to users successively. This ultra-fast charging technology can charge the vehicle from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes, matching the driver’s legally required rest duration, alleviating the pain point of energy replenishment for long-distance operation of battery-electric heavy trucks, and greatly improving transportation turnover.

Traditional fuel models have also received energy efficiency upgrades. MAN’s D30 PowerLion powertrain improves fuel economy by 5% compared with the previous generation, and together with the iteratively optimized diesel engines across the lineup, it ranks among the world’s efficient commercial vehicle power solutions. For heavy-duty special operation scenarios, MAN grandly exhibits a 60-ton-class heavy-duty truck built on the TGS 8×4, which, with ultra-high structural strength and super-strong load-bearing capacity, can adapt to various mining heavy-load transportation conditions.

Intelligent Safety Configuration Iterated Dual Upgrades for Driving and Operations.

At this show, MAN has completed a comprehensive upgrade of intelligent assistance and safety systems for its full range of trucks, achieving comprehensive advancement in three dimensions: driving safety, operational efficiency, and driving comfort. The newly optimized EfficientCruise intelligent predictive cruise system can accurately identify and predict changes in road infrastructure and road conditions, intelligently adjust vehicle speed and power output, and further reduce energy consumption.

At the same time, the vehicle’s front detection, steering assistance, and emergency braking assistance systems achieve coordinated linkage. Even at low speeds, they can accurately identify vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and non-motor vehicles around the vehicle, proactively avoid risks, and comprehensively improve driving safety.

In terms of comfort configuration, the all-new MAN eTGX adds multiple humanized features, including standard wireless phone charging, the EasyControl quick control system on the passenger-side door, a high-power 230V power outlet, and a mechanical night lock device, providing multiple safety protections for drivers resting when parked and greatly optimizing the long-haul driving experience.

Electric Ecosystem Implemented, Unlocking New Cost-Reduction Advantages for Fleets.

Beyond product upgrades, MAN focuses on the core pain points of electrified operations and builds a one-stop electric mobility ecosystem covering infrastructure, charging, energy consumption, and operations and maintenance. Relying on MAN Transport Solutions business, the brand has implemented innovative functions such as smart charging, energy management, and bidirectional charging.
