At the 2026 Hannover International Transportation Expo in Germany (IAA Transportation 2026), CUMMINS and its zero-carbon brand Accelera™ announced that they will further expand European battery manufacturing capacity. The Spanish plant will produce a new-generation lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery platform for the commercial vehicle market, suitable for high-intensity operating scenarios such as buses and trucks. The product is designed to meet customers' operational performance needs while helping customers accelerate their carbon reduction goals. This investment demonstrates Accelera's long-term commitment to deepening its presence in the European market and will further promote the application of electric commercial vehicles in Europe.

Advancing internal combustion engine technology: CUMMINS multi-fuel engine platform (HELM™).

At the press conference, CUMMINS also highlighted the multi-fuel engine HELM™ platform. While providing customers with multiple fuel choices, this platform can help OEMs reduce product development complexity. CUMMINS also displayed the X15N heavy-duty natural gas engine in Europe for the first time, providing customers with a low-carbon power solution that can be deployed immediately.

In addition, CUMMINS also showcased the hybrid capability of the X10 platform. As CUMMINS' first HELM™ platform engine launched in Europe, the X10 adopts a common architecture design that can support advanced diesel power and potential future low-carbon fuel solutions, meeting evolving market demands. The X10 was developed in accordance with stringent global emission standards including Euro 7, achieving high power density while further improving fuel efficiency, enabling customers to meet performance needs that originally required 11- or 13-liter engines with a 10-liter-class platform.
