Multimodal Transport Creates a Xiangtan Paradigm, and Xiangtan's "14th Five-Year Plan" Transport Construction Boosts Chang-Zhu-Tan Integration

　　Recently, Xiangtan City reviewed the achievements in building its modern comprehensive transportation system during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. Over the past five years, the city's transportation sector completed fixed-asset investment of 24.71 billion yuan, a multidimensional comprehensive transportation network has basically taken shape, and the construction goal of "people enjoy their journeys and goods flow smoothly" has been achieved.

　　In terms of infrastructure, 70 kilometers of new expressways were opened to traffic, 99.7 kilometers of national and provincial trunk roads were completed, and 767 kilometers of rural roads were completed; the integration of Xiangtan Port resources accelerated, and port throughput increased significantly. The Chang-Zhu-Tan Intercity West Ring Line was opened, and the rapid road upgrades of Tanzhou Avenue and Furong Avenue were completed, helping the Changsha-Xiangtan half-hour living circle take shape.

　　Multimodal transport has developed distinctive features; a demonstration project for the western gateway hub of Chang-Zhu-Tan was built; the "Xiangtan-ASEAN" rail-sea intermodal freight train was launched; in 2025, the ratio of total social logistics costs to GDP dropped to 12.7%, the lowest level in the province. The integration of urban and rural passenger transport and the reform integrating rural passenger, freight and postal services have been implemented with results. The urban-rural delivery system was selected as a postal special pilot for building China into a country with strong transportation, and the "one matter" reform for oversized cargo transport is at the forefront of the province.

　　Next, Xiangtan will build on the foundation laid during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, continue to improve its road-rail-water-air multimodal transport system, and serve Chang-Zhu-Tan integration and high-quality regional economic development.
