As of October 6, the container transport volume of rail-sea intermodal trains on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor has exceeded 1 million TEUs this year. The corridor's transport capacity has continued to expand and its transport network has continued to improve, providing strong support for Southwest China's foreign trade development and the smooth flow of domestic and international dual circulation.

Since the beginning of this year, demand for two-way cargo flows on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor has remained strong, with close interconnection and frequent transport exchanges between the Sichuan-Chongqing region and Beibu Gulf ports. Data show that this year, trains carrying sea-bound goods from Chongqing to the Qinzhou Port area reached 120,000 TEUs, up 31.7% year on year; the outbound volume of industrial products such as auto parts, construction machinery and tires increased by 95%; trains carrying waterborne industrial raw materials from the Qinzhou Port area to Chongqing transported 53,000 TEUs, up 28.7% year on year. Among them, the volume of industrial and mining raw materials such as quartz sand, spodumene and zinc concentrate surged nearly threefold year on year, continuously releasing logistics demand in the hinterland's industrial supply chains.

In response to the suspension of the Three Gorges ship lift on the Yangtze River for maintenance in September and the resulting limited capacity of the river-sea intermodal corridor, the railway sector precisely responded to market changes, proactively accepted diverted cargo, and made every effort to ensure that Southwest China's foreign trade logistics did not break. Data show that in September, the two-way train volumes between Chongqing Xiaonanya and Qinzhou Port East both doubled, up 119.5% and 106.9% year on year respectively, effectively filling the capacity gap caused by waterway maintenance.

At present, infrastructure construction on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor is accelerating and improving in efficiency. The second-track projects of the Qinzhou-Fangchenggang Railway and Qinzhou Port Railway have entered the final stage and will be put into operation successively from this year to the first half of next year, which will greatly enhance the railway evacuation capacity behind the Beibu Gulf ports. Meanwhile, after the nationwide railway fourth-quarter timetable adjustment was implemented, the number of scheduled train routes on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor increased to 54, with 2 new fixed train routes added. This will further densify Guangxi's logistics network connecting Sichuan-Chongqing, the Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao and the China-Vietnam border ports, making the corridor pattern of two-way internal and external connectivity even more complete.
