Upgrade of Hebei-Shandong Interprovincial Corridor

　　On October 8, the reconstruction and expansion project of the expressway from Hengshui, Hebei, to Dezhou, Shandong, was fully opened to two-way traffic. With the completion of the upgrade and reconstruction of this 49-kilometer corridor, the traffic capacity of the Hebei-Shandong interprovincial corridor will be greatly improved, which is of great significance for driving coordinated industrial development along the route.

　　The Hengde Expressway reconstruction and expansion project commenced in April 2025 and completed its construction task three months ahead of the planned schedule. During construction, the project team overcame technical challenges such as joining old and new subgrades, pavements, and bridges, and developed a number of distinctive construction techniques; relying on tower high-point "Sky Eye" and AI intelligent security monitoring, it established a "one road, multiple parties" coordination mechanism, achieving zero safety accidents during construction.

　　As a pilot project for building a green and low-carbon transportation powerhouse, the project promoted technologies such as rubber-modified asphalt, solid waste utilization, and plant-mixed cold recycling, while simultaneously building a smart expressway, creating a "Hengde Model" for expressway reconstruction and expansion in plain areas. .
