On Jan.6, themed on “Leading the Future Trends through Transformation and Upgrade—Science, Integrity, Harmony and Mutual Benefit ” the 2017 Business Conference of the Sales Department of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co.Ltd. lifted curtain in SINOTRUK Science and Technology Edifice in Ji’nan. Its partners in distribution network and modification factories, representatives of clients, financial and investment corporations from around the nation came together to share its excellent sales results in 2016 and confirm its strategic direction in 2017. 

With Excellent Result at its 60th Anniversary, SINOTRUK Sets 2017 Sales Goal at  220,000+ Vehicles

SINOTRUK is committed to “nourish independent R&D capabilities and establish a national heavy-duty truck manufacturer”, they forged ahead  for 60 years. It’s reported that, in 2016, its sales in whole vehicles over the whole year exceeded 200,000, up 28.4% compared to the same time last year; among them, 123,000 heavy trucks were sold, up 25% year on year; 75,000 light trucks were sold, up 35% year on year; over 2,500  buses were sold, up 48.6% year on year. Its sales revenue exceeded CNY 70 billion Yuan, up 14% year on year; its pretax profit reached CNY3.5 billion Yuan, up 33% YOY.

Board President and Party Secretary of SINOTRUK Ma Chunji delivered a speech in this conference. He said SINOTRUK stuck to the approaches of switching operation methods, adjusting product structures and centering on customers, diligently exploited its own potentiality and advantages to achieve a sound result in its operation in 2016. Through which, the adjustment of product structure has shown its initial effect and the level of network operation keeps rising. In the field of heavy trucks, the sales of tractors surged by 37% YOY, surpassing the average growth in the industry and the proportion in the whole sale volume of the corporation increasing to 42% from less than 10%. Among them the proportion of the sales of tractors hold in that of the sales department reaches 51.2%, up 8.3% compared with last year; agitator trucks, dump trucks respectively hold a market share of 71% and 35%, sustaining the absolute leading positions; sales of MAN T/C series products increase by 59% YOY, among them, over 10,000 MAN technology products have been delivered in December. Within the whole group, the sales of MAN technology products has taken a share of 51% in the total sales of heavy trucks, which indicates they have become the leading products in China’s truck market.

The successful entry into developed countries and regions like New Zealand, Hong Kong and Taiwan of  heavy truck products represented by MAN technology materialized the new breakthrough in China’s high-end heavy truck export. Over the whole year, 25,000 whole vehicles were exported, taking a share of 40.2% in the total export in China’s heavy truck industry. It has firmly snatched the top position among China’s heavy truck manufacturers in export for 12 consecutive years. 

As to SINOTRUK’s development goal in 2017, Ma stated that 2017 is a “year of putting the measures of innovation and upgrading into practice”. The group will make every effort to ensure the sale volume of whole vehicles exceeds 220,000.The growth of various major indicators “are to be stabilized at 8% while targeted at 10%. The levels of qualitative efficiency are to sustain the leading position in the industry.

GM of SINOTRUK Sales Department Zhang Xiaodong said, in 2016 the sale of MAN platform products reached 26,686; the sale of vehicles for highway purpose recorded visible increase at 42.7% YOY; dump truck and agitator truck stabilize at the top position in their respective industries, its muck truck take a national market share of 30%; it successfully broke through the besiege by its competitors in express delivery market with HOWO T7H titled 2016’s No.1 Vehicle for Express Delivery; it dominated the muck truck market for several consecutive years with a market share of 30%; as the 921 new policy regulating the overloading phenomena was implemented, it unleashed an offensive toward the field of coal transport, creating another sales highlight.

It’s estimated that in 2017, 78,000 vehicles will be sold, including 36,500 tractors, 19,000 dump trucks, 8,000 agitator trucks, 6,500 cargo trucks, 7,000 special-purposed vehicles and 1000 other vehicles. The Sales Department will continue its intensive cultivation in 10 major customer fields including foundational ones like mainline logistics, hazardous chemical transport, muck truck market, sand and gravels, mineral transport, heavy load transport, port trailers; and nourishing ones like express delivery, coal transport, cold-chain transport and break-through ones dominated by car transport vehicle market.

Establish Iron-solid Marketing Network to Offer Active Service to Customers

Furthermore the sales branch of SINOTRUK will establish an  “Iron-solid Marketing Network” , it will cover county level regions where the vehicle ownership is above 1000; establish responsible marketing networks respectively with over 3000 heavy buyers to enhance the quality of market promotion, promote total value chain marketing mode and expand new profit-making points; increase financial support to customers, confirm 100 recommended effective credit-granting agencies, provide CNY 3.5 billion Yuan worth of confirmer wharf finance turnover vehicles. To further improve the customers’ satifaction, Zhang requested the dealers to organize positively activities to offer care and service.

Regarding the sales of 2017, SINOTRUK will continuously solidify its advantageous position in fire extinguishing engines and highway curing vehicles and realize growth in sanitation vehicles, cold chain vehicles and hazardous chemical transport vehicles. To achieve this goal, sales department will further strengthen the cooperation with partners in special-purpose vehicles and utilize the sales and service networks of both parties to further drive the growth in market sales. On the site of the conference, the sales department signed an order concerning chassis for 2000 special-purpose vehicles which will be used for agitator vehicles.

Starting from Jan. 1, 2017, the sales department only accepts orders concerning State V products so as to focus its energy and fund on the development in mainstream market and “go into battle with light pack” in 2017. Eventually Zhang motivated the sales team with the line “As the wind is preferable and the tide is flat, it’s time to set the sail and cut the wave. When the task is heavy and goal is faraway, we need haste to reach the goal”.
