On April 15, Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. officially launched two new models under its van brand, Dongfeng Furuitong, in Chongqing: the V8E and V10. This launch marks the first product rollout following the brand's official announcement on March 26. The two new models target two major directions—new energy urban delivery and fuel-powered heavy-load transport—comprehensively covering diverse application scenarios from passenger-cargo dual-use to specialized logistics. With the "Four Goods" strengths—good load capacity, good drivability, good economy, and good looks—they aim to redefine the value benchmark for national vans.

Li Yang, Deputy General Manager of Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd., stated in an interview that Dongfeng has been deeply involved in the van sector for over a decade. Currently, Dongfeng Furuitong's production is primarily handled by the Xiangyang Intelligent Manufacturing Base. This base boasts industry-leading intelligent production lines. Building on Dongfeng's rigorous quality control system, it has achieved a mixed-flow production model capable of producing both electric and fuel vehicles, ensuring high consistency in product quality and assembly craftsmanship for both the V8E pure electric model and the V10 fuel model.

Regarding Furuitong's future development, Pu Beilei, Assistant to the General Manager of Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd., stated that the brand will adhere to a customer-centric approach. Through continuous technological innovation and product iteration, it aims to build a comprehensive van family covering all categories and scenarios.

According to the plan, by 2026, Dongfeng will continue to launch upgraded Furuitong products. In the small and medium van market, up to 26 models are planned, while the large van market will see the introduction of 10 models. This will encompass passenger vans with 6 to 14 seats, cargo vans with 6 to 12 cubic meters of cargo space, and span multiple technology routes including pure electric, fuel, and natural gas. It will also include a vast product matrix for diverse modifications such as postal, refrigerated, and construction applications, providing more precise solutions for the logistics needs of various industries.

Competitive Pricing and Multiple Benefits Lower the Barrier to Entry

At the launch event, Guo Quanbin, Deputy Head of the Marketing Headquarters and General Manager of the Furuitong Business Unit at Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd., officially announced the manufacturer's suggested retail prices and purchase benefits. The Furuitong V8E starts at RMB 91,500, and the Furuitong V10 starts at RMB 101,000.

From now until June 30, 2025, vehicle purchasers can enjoy multiple launch benefits including cash gifts, financial incentives, and trade-in offers. These are in addition to national trade-in policy subsidies, effectively lowering the threshold for customers to purchase new vehicles.

V8E: Passenger-Car Grade Upgrade, Creating a New Urban Delivery Experience

The Dongfeng Furuitong V8E is specifically designed for scenarios combining passenger and cargo transport. The vehicle features a streamlined design that reduces the drag coefficient by 14%. The passenger version is equipped with integrated privacy glass and offers a variety of body color options.

In terms of the core three-electric system, the vehicle is powered by BYD or CATL power batteries, paired with a 110 kW flat-wire motor. Its electricity consumption per 100 kilometers is 2.7 kWh lower than comparable competitors, representing a 17% reduction in overall energy consumption. Based on typical high-frequency operation, a single vehicle can save nearly RMB 2,000 annually on electricity costs alone.

In terms of load capacity, the V8E offers a cargo volume of 7.3 cubic meters, capable of easily handling large pipes and standard pallets. The chassis utilizes a 3+1 leaf spring suspension structure and is equipped with a 2-ton reinforced rear axle, ensuring good support and driving stability even under full load.

The interior and comfort features of the V8E have been upgraded to passenger-car standards. The wrap-around cockpit layout is complemented by a dual LCD instrument panel and a 13-inch high-definition central control screen, integrating a reversing camera and a dashcam, significantly enhancing safety when navigating narrow streets. The ergonomically designed bench seat helps effectively alleviate back fatigue for logistics drivers during long hours of driving.

Notably, the V8E also comes standard with V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) external power discharge functionality. This feature, more commonly found in new energy SUVs, transforms the V8E into an efficient transport tool on workdays and a mobile power source on weekends, capable of powering outdoor induction cooktops, lighting, and other equipment. This expands the vehicle's utility into lifestyle and recreational scenarios.

V10: Heavy-Duty Specialist, Overcoming High-Load Transport Challenges

The Dongfeng Furuitong V10 is positioned as an "efficient heavy-load urban delivery expert," targeting application scenarios with high load and power requirements, such as furniture and building material transport and high-intensity intercity delivery. Its exterior features a straight waterfall front grille with a chrome grille and a boxy body design, emphasizing stability and a sense of power.

The cargo volume is available in options ranging from 8 to 12 cubic meters, with a maximum internal height of 1.95 meters. The rear doors can open up to 270 degrees. When unloading in logistics parks or narrow alleys, the doors can fully fold against the vehicle's sides, facilitating easy loading of pallets by forklifts and significantly improving cargo handling efficiency.

In terms of the powertrain, the V10 is equipped with a high-horsepower engine based on Nissan technology, paired with a high-pressure fuel injection system that enables better fuel atomization and improved combustion efficiency. Data shows that the vehicle's combined fuel consumption is 8.8 liters per 100 kilometers, approximately 0.9 liters less than comparable competitors, effectively controlling fuel costs while ensuring ample power.

To accommodate different road conditions, the V10 is available in both front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive configurations. The front-wheel-drive model delivers a maximum power of 115 kW and peak torque of 360 N·m, suitable for quick starts and agile maneuvering on flat urban roads. The rear-wheel-drive model increases maximum power to 120 kW and peak torque to 400 N·m, equipped with a 3.5-ton Dana rear axle and reinforced chassis design.

Inside the cabin, the V10 features a dual-tone interior layout and comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission; the front-wheel-drive model offers an optional 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Reversing cameras and dashcams are listed as standard equipment, reflecting the growing emphasis on safety and convenience among urban delivery users.

On-Site Deliveries and Energy-Saving Challenge Ignite Wealth-Creation Enthusiasm

A ceremony was held at the launch event for the delivery of the first batch of vehicles, where 10 user representatives received the keys to their new vehicles. A concurrent group purchase event in the Chongqing area also proved highly popular, securing a total of 26 orders on-site.
