Beijing) Benz Trucks 2016 Drivers’ League Competition China Division held a
ceremonious awarding ceremony in Sunrise Kempinski Hotel Beijing by the shore
of Yanqi Lake.
2016 FleetBoard®
Drivers’ League Competition lasted for 3 months from Jun.1 to Aug.31. There
were no more than 500 Chinese among the 20,000+ contestants in total. Facing the
powerful Deutsche corps and rivals from South Africa and other European
countries, Chinese drivers have accomplished a “wonderful
challenge”: 4 Chinese drivers were listed in the global
top 30, among whom Zhou Yuan gained the highest rank for Chinese drivers—the 11thplace in the global ranking.
Dr. Rainer Gaertner, president and CEO of
Daimler Trucks & Buses (China) Co.,Ltd., said in the complimentary address:
“FleetBoard® Drivers’ League Competition is a contest to test the
driving ability under the condition of fuel-saving. The Chinese competitors and
their fleets have demonstrated a world-level achievement at the first year of
their participation in the global competition with inspiring results.”He received the winning certificates on behalf of the Chinese fleets
that entered the global top 10, in the awarding ceremony for global winning
fleets given by FleetBoard® Drivers’ League Competition in Han over during IAA
last month.
Meanwhile the
representatives of the six best-performing fleets received trophies conferred by Dr. Rainer
Gaertner which embody their power and glory. In the global ranking, 5 Chinese
fleets have entered top ten,
respectively the second, third, fourth, fifth and the eighth place.
Zhou Yuan and
Zeng Yong, the two champion drivers, were awarded the Tour of Glory in Germany
offered by Daimler Trucks & Buses. Zhou Yuan was invited to participate in
the Benz Internal Training Program, through more systemized training,he will become
a driver trainer of the enterprise to help other drivers.
Li Ming, deputy
president of Huiyuan Logistics felt very happy about winning the title of
Excellent Fleet for Long-distance Transport. He said Huiyuan Logistics owns 30
Benz trucks and over 60 drivers, before entering the competition, they
organized rounds-after-rounds of internal screening to ensure the best driver
is selected for the challenge, and in doing so, it stirred up a positive
atmosphere within the company in which everyone was trying to exceed the others,
learn from and help each other, thus leading to the effect that team cohesion
is enhanced and drivers find professional pride in the activities. Li Ming
would observe the vehicles and the driving habits of different drivers through
Fleetboard® intelligent management system every day, interact and discuss how
to improve driving skills with them via wechat. As the manager of the fleet, Li
Ming attained a clear grasp on various data of the vehicles through Fleetboard®
intelligent management system.

China is one of
the most important market for Daimler Trucks. In 2013, Daimler Trucks &
Buses (China) Co.,Ltd. introduced FleetBoard® intelligent fleet management
system into China market, in combination with T.C.O. ® Yunying Zhihui system, it
helps users to improve the operation efficiency of trucks and save logistic
costs. Up to now, there are 59 fleets and 484 drivers who have adopted
FleetBoard® intelligent fleet management system and its management service.
With the
support from the team on value-creation training and fleet operation management
consultation service of Daimler Trucks & Buses (China) Co.,Ltd., drivers’
fuel-saving driving performance increases by 7.4 percent(calculated on the
basis of the scores on FleetBoard® performance analysis modules) and average
fuel consumption drops by 11.7 percent. In the future, as the logistics
industry is upgraded, Benz Trucks will provide more logistic fleets with
FleetBoard® intelligent fleet management system, value-creation training and
fleet operation management consultation service. Meanwhile, what’s more aspiring
