According to the framework of the agreement, in addition to the order for 160 buses, the Azerbaijani government will purchase 200 electric buses from BYD every year from 2025 to 2028 and assemble them locally, and in the future, the two sides plan to carry out deeper cooperation in local production. In November this year, the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) will be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and this batch of electric buses will also help COP29 to realize the green and low-carbon organization.

The BYD K9UD electric bus integrates BYD's advanced three-electric technology and six-in-one controller, which not only provides a low-carbon public travel option and improves the operational efficiency of city buses, but also provides a more comfortable travel experience for all passengers with its low-entry design and spacious interior.

Mr. Tian Chunlong, General Manager of BYD's Commercial Vehicle Division, said, "BYD has always been upholding the concept of green mobility, and by joining hands with the Azerbaijani government this time, we hope to promote the green and sustainable development of Azerbaijan, as well as help organize the low-carbon and environmentally friendly COP29 summit. In the future, we look forward to further cooperation with the Azerbaijani government in localized production, and provide local citizens with safe and comfortable, green and low-carbon mobility with advanced technology and high-quality products."

As a pioneer and leader in the global new energy vehicle industry, BYD took the lead in proposing the solution of "electrification of city buses" as early as 2010. Up to now, BYD's commercial vehicles, represented by its electric buses, have been deployed in more than 70 countries and 400 cities around the world, including Amsterdam (Netherlands), London (UK), Tokyo (Japan) and São Paulo (Brazil), and more than 80,000 electric buses have been successfully delivered to customers.
