"In the face of absolute competitive advantage, all business models are vulnerable."

On April 11, at the 2026 China Intelligent Electric Vehicle High-Level Development Forum held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, Liang Linhe, a director of SANY Group and chairman of SANY Truck, made the company's stance clear when asked about market competition: SANY Truck will not pursue short-term market share rankings through price cuts. The company believes that customers will recognize the high value that SANY Truck brings.
Instead of engaging in price wars, SANY Truck is investing its efforts in a more distant future: its core strategy is now centered on the self-development of end-to-end autonomous driving technology. Simultaneously, leveraging its leading new energy technologies, the company is accelerating the export of both its trucks and a green energy ecosystem to overseas markets. In this era of smart and green transformation, SANY Truck is committed to being a long-term player.

Rejecting Price Wars, Deepening Self-Developed Technology
Since entering the market in 2018, SANY Truck has spent eight years evolving from a challenger to an innovator. By the end of 2025, the company's annual sales had exceeded 10 billion RMB, with cumulative sales of electric trucks surpassing 40,000 units, securing a leading position in China's new energy heavy truck market for consecutive years.
However, from 2025 through the first quarter of 2026, established manufacturers have aggressively entered the new energy sector, rapidly gaining market share and intensifying competition.
In response, SANY Truck has achieved full self-development and production of its electric motors, batteries, and transmissions. Its cost-control capability is among the best in the industry, and its capital turnover rate reaches 12 times per year—compared to the industry's top inventory turnover rate of about 6 times annually. This means that from raw steel entering the factory to production, sales, and capital return, the entire cycle takes just one month for SANY.

"If I only focused on market share, I could still make a profit by cutting prices another 20,000 RMB, but many of my competitors would continue to lose money," Liang Linhe stated. As the industry leader in total ownership, SANY Truck has chosen to exercise restraint. He defines this as an industrial responsibility—to prevent China's heavy truck industry from falling into a vicious cycle of low prices, low costs, low profits, and low R&D.
Despite holding a cost advantage and choosing not to engage in price wars, Liang remains composed: "Not participating in the current blind competition does not mean giving up on future competition. We adhere to long-termism. In three to five years, when customers realize that buying a SANY truck can indeed generate more profit, they will naturally see the value."
This long-term approach is also reflected in the company's financial health. Since completing its Series A financing of over 800 million RMB in 2022, SANY Truck has not sought further external funding. "We now have over 5 billion RMB in cash flow on our books. I am the least cash-strapped in the new energy heavy truck industry. Our collection rate is excellent, with a default rate below 1%."

This healthy cash flow supports the pace of technological iteration. At the SANY Truck 2026 Customer Operations Conference held on March 31, the company unveiled its "MoQing Intelligent Drive" dual-motor technology. This system delivers 500 kW of power, surpassing the mainstream range of approximately 400 kW for fuel-powered vehicles. Combined with the industry-first "MoTa" battery, which weighs just over 2 tons, and a "factory direct" sales model that eliminates middleman costs, SANY is building a value moat for its customers through tangible technology and operational efficiency.
Breaking Free from Oil Dependence, Exporting an Ecosystem
Regarding the new energy transition in the road freight and commercial vehicle industries, Liang Linhe offered a perspective: "We are at the intersection of the third energy revolution—where electricity replaces oil—and the fourth industrial revolution of smart manufacturing. In the oil age, possessing oil meant power. But in the future, industries that rely on oil will be driven by electricity, changing the dynamics of power."
This judgment is based on a case study Liang shared at the SANY Truck customer conference. Due to recent geopolitical tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, diesel prices in Australia spiked to approximately 14 RMB per liter, triggering strikes by local truck drivers. In response, Australian authorities urgently sought an alternative solution, requesting a delivery of 1,000 electric trucks within one month. SANY Truck, which had proactively invested in and obtained the stringent ADR certification, successfully undertook this critical task.

"The world should not be held hostage by oil crises, and electric trucks are immune to this problem," Liang remarked.
Beyond Australia, SANY Truck plans to partner with its German subsidiary, Putzmeister, to showcase its long-range, 636 kWh electric heavy truck—which has obtained full European WVTA certification—at the IAA Transportation exhibition in Hanover this year.
In regions like Africa, where electricity is scarce, or Vietnam, where power costs are high, SANY's strategy is more comprehensive. "We build solar-storage-charging microgrids with our customers. Without relying on the local power grid, solar energy is stored, enabling trucks to run for a full day." This integrated "vehicle plus energy ecosystem" export model is currently being validated in countries like Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates.
Betting Heavily on Open-Road Autonomous Driving
For future competitiveness, SANY is placing its bets on end-to-end autonomous driving on open roads.
Liang Linhe believes that current "platooning" is only a transitional solution. SANY Truck's goal is to produce, within four years, a truly cabless autonomous electric truck capable of conducting end-to-end, unattended relay transportation on intercity routes.

To achieve this, Liang has made it clear that SANY will not entrust its autonomous driving "soul" to external tech companies. Instead, it will rely on its self-developed e-axles and chassis-by-wire to build a vertical integration loop from execution hardware to decision-making algorithms. He stated: "We plan to invest nearly all the annual profits from our heavy truck division—hundreds of millions of yuan—wholeheartedly into autonomous driving R&D."
The return on this investment may take several years, but SANY Truck is patient—the competition in new energy trucks is a marathon. Whether currently leading or following is less important than choosing the right direction.
Through strategic restraint in the domestic market, the export of a complete energy ecosystem, and a major commitment to open-road autonomous driving, SANY Truck is advancing as a "long-distance runner," contributing hardcore technological strength to the green logistics transformation worldwide.
