Our virtual tour has now arrived at the BYD Commercial Vehicle booth, located at Booth B11 in Hall 21. This time, BYD has brought to the site a pure electric commercial vehicle lineup ranging from 3.5-tonne light trucks to 44-tonne heavy trucks, covering a variety of transportation scenarios.

The highlight model at the booth is the European version 4×2 pure electric tractor ETT44, making its global debut. The new vehicle features a lightweight design and an all-new high-voltage platform, and its cab has been safety-validated according to Swedish standards. Also nearby are the pure electric light van E-VALI, designed for narrow roads in old European towns, the port tractor ETH28, the T35 light truck, and an electric bus that has already obtained EU certification.

The venue shuttle buses at this IAA are also provided by BYD. The shuttle buses everyone takes between venues are very likely BYD pure electric buses. In addition to vehicles, the site also displays Blade Batteries, self-developed electric drive axles, and charging piles, showcasing a complete new energy commercial vehicle system.

We are now at the Cummins booth, located in Halls 19–20. This time its keyword is “Many Paths,” meaning a multi-path technology route. Diesel, natural gas, hydrogen internal combustion engines, hydrogen fuel cells, battery electric and hybrid can all be seen here.

The most eye-catching item at the booth is the fourth-generation hydrogen fuel cell system making its global debut this time. There are also the 14Xe modular electric drive axle, Advanced LFP long-cell batteries, and the eULFA electric drive axle developed for low-floor buses, all brought by Accelera, Cummins’ zero-carbon business brand.

There are also many new developments on the traditional powertrain side. The X10 Euro VII engine delivers up to 450 hp and 2,240 N·m of peak torque, and can be paired with a hybrid system; the X15N natural gas engine delivers up to 651 hp and 3,000 N·m of peak torque and is mainly aimed at line-haul transportation; on site, visitors can also see the X15H hydrogen internal combustion engine, as well as NPROXX’s 350 bar and 700 bar high-pressure hydrogen storage systems.

What Cummins is showcasing in Hanover this time is a powertrain portfolio covering different application scenarios. In the face of the commercial vehicle energy transition, Many Paths is exactly the answer Cummins provides.

Now we have arrived at the Volvo Trucks booth, located at Hall 11, D09. There are eight display trucks on site this time, and in the H14/H15 test-drive area there are seven more models available for hands-on experience.

The most notable is the new-generation FH Aero Electric long-range version. It frees up more chassis space through an integrated electric drive axle, has an official range of 700 km, and supports MCS megawatt-level charging; charging from 20% to 80% takes about 50 minutes, further extending the application scope of battery-electric heavy trucks to long-haul transport.

However, Volvo is not only showcasing battery-electric vehicles this time. On site there are also the new-generation D13 diesel engine, the FH Aero gas version, the FH16 Aero, and a future-oriented hydrogen internal combustion engine truck prototype.

From battery-electric, diesel, and natural gas to hydrogen internal combustion engines, Volvo Trucks, through a diversified technology matrix, provides European transport companies at different stages of decarbonization with flexible and pragmatic transition options.

Now we have arrived at the Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicles booth, located at Outdoor P55. This is also Farizon's first time participating in IAA. On site, it brought three battery-electric models: the Xinghan H battery-electric heavy truck, SuperVAN, and Xingxiang V7E.

Among them, the Xinghan H is making its European debut at this year's show and is mainly aimed at long-haul trunk-line logistics. The SuperVAN has already taken the lead in entering the European market and has won a five-star Euro NCAP commercial vehicle rating, as well as international awards such as the global runner-up in the IVOTY 2026 International Van of the Year award and the What Van? 2026 Zero-Emission Van of the Year award. Next to it, the Xingxiang V7E offers 6.95 cubic meters of loading space and is mainly designed for urban last-mile delivery.

During the media day, Farizon also held a dedicated press conference at the convention center, officially announcing its channel layout and product plans for the European market. As a new energy commercial vehicle brand backed by Geely Holding, Farizon's Hannover debut demonstrated its leap from large-scale domestic operations to localized delivery in Europe.

Now we come to the Bosch booth, located at A31 in Hall 19/20. At this event, Bosch has taken “Software-Defined Truck” as its theme, focusing on showcasing cutting-edge technology solutions for commercial vehicles and holding special technical events at the booth.

The booth showcased commercial vehicle eDrive axles, fuel cell systems, and a hydrogen internal combustion engine low-pressure direct injection system making its public debut. In addition to the powertrain, Bosch also exhibited a new generation of environmental sensors, redundant steering actuators, and a central computing platform, providing a complete hardware redundancy solution for L3 to L4 autonomous driving.

As a leading global components supplier, Bosch’s participation this time concentrated on presenting its integration capabilities in core components for electrification, hydrogen, and autonomous driving, demonstrating its full-stack R&D strength in providing system-level solutions to OEMs.

Now we have arrived at the Daimler Truck exhibition area, located at Hall 19/20, Booth A41. This year marks the 130th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz truck brand, and the centerpiece of the booth is the NextGenH2 hydrogen fuel cell truck, which has just made its public debut.

This vehicle is equipped with a cellcentric fuel cell system and adopts a liquid hydrogen storage solution, targeting a single refueling range of over 1,000 kilometers, with a refueling time of 10 to 15 minutes. At present, the vehicle has already traveled nearly 600,000 kilometers in actual operation, and small-batch deliveries will begin subsequently. Also on display at the same booth are the already mass-produced and delivered eActros 600 battery-electric heavy truck and the TruckCharge energy replenishment solution.

At the milestone of its 130th anniversary, Daimler Truck is displaying the already mass-produced battery-electric heavy truck together with the liquid hydrogen heavy truck that is about to enter small-batch delivery, clearly presenting its dual-track strategy of placing equal emphasis on battery-electric and hydrogen energy in long-haul zero-carbon transportation.

Now we come to the EVE Energy booth, located at Hall 21, D25. The focus of this display is the open-source battery brand EVE Open Source Battery and battery system solutions for commercial vehicles.

The commercial vehicle battery pack on site uses top-and-bottom liquid cooling technology and supports megawatt-level constant-current ultra-fast charging. Official data shows that charging from 10% to 80% takes about 18 minutes. The cells support 3C ultra-fast charging, achieving 20% to 80% in as little as 15 minutes, and support low-temperature charging at minus 30 degrees Celsius.

Another highlight is the CTB battery system. Through a frameless, highly integrated design, official data shows it can help reduce the entire vehicle's weight by more than 5%. For commercial vehicles that are highly sensitive to load, the weight saved by the battery also means more payload capacity can be reserved.

At this exhibition, EVE Energy not only showcased the hardcore specifications of its cells, but also, through the system integration format of "cells + battery packs + thermal management + ultra-fast charging," demonstrated a new approach to empowering European OEMs and upfitters.
